Art, as well as science, is a mean for understanding our world.
That is why at UNIT Art Lab we wanted to connect avant-garde artists with advanced data scientists to generate new views on the
Universal Intelligence and the destiny of life on Earth.
Is the universe order or chaos?
In this visual work developed from Discovery data, the artist Sergio Mora-Díaz invites us to put our faith in order.
"Minerals also have cycles, because everything in nature works under that logic."
The work collects mineral composition data analyzed during different periods of time, to create a figure that is mutating, renewing its parts from within, just as a plant or even ourselves do permanently. Was nature kept that condition only for the living? Or is it that minerals are also secretly guided by that principle?
Metal with a liquid trajectory in the work of the artist Sergio Mora-Díaz made from data collected by COSMOS.
Using the fuel data of more than 5,000 mining trucks, Sergio Mora-Díaz develops a work of metallic particles that disperse and converge. Musicalized by Irish-based composer Nelson Olivares.

Arts and scienceare complementary.
Is it possible that the intersection between art, science and artificial intelligence allow us to sow new paradigms about the functioning of the Universe?
At UNIT Art Lab we believe so. That is why we have proposed an experimental field of action between these two worlds, generating works of art from the work that our scientists carry out every day.
Public announcement to any artist that wants to collaborate in works with data science and advanced mathematics.
